Why did you choose to become a coach?

Coaching has been a way to stay close to the game I love. More importantly, I became a coach for many of the same reasons I became a teacher: to mentor and assist our youth. Playing a role in how athletes grow and improve as players and people is one of the most rewarding experiences a coach can have.

What do you enjoy about coaching?

I love seeing the “ahah” moment, especially after a player pushed the limits and worked hard to do so! The excitement and feeling of accomplishment after overcoming that tough challenge can go a long way in showing young athletes the value of hard work and commitment, not just soccer, but in life.

How do you hope to inspire your players?

My motto for my players is Have Fun, Work Hard, Play Hard, and Most Importantly, Be a Good Person. By challenging my players and maintaining high expectations, I hope to inspire young athletes to give it their all in the sport they love, while maintaining those same expectations for themselves on and off the field. My hope is that they will grow into the best athlete and person they can be.
