Why did you choose to become a coach?

I chose to become a coach because I believe soccer is more than just a sport—it’s a powerful tool for social impact. Growing up in Italy and training with a professional academy, I saw firsthand how the game could offer hope and purpose to kids from underserved communities. That experience shaped my belief that the true value of soccer lies in the life lessons it teaches. Coaching gives me the opportunity to pass those lessons on and help young players grow both on and off the field.

What do you enjoy about coaching?

WhatI enjoy most about coaching is creating an environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to play. I love seeing them develop not just their technical skills, but also their character—learning to be resilient, respectful, and empathetic. Coaching the U13G age group will be especially rewarding because I get to foster their joy and passion for the game while helping them understand the importance of teamwork and unity.

How do you hope to inspire your players?

I hope to inspire my players by showing them that every one of them matters. I emphasize inclusivity and empathy, making sure each child feels seen and valued. I teach them that character is more important than winning, and that success comes from supporting each other and growing together. Most importantly, I want them to love the game—to show up with excitement and leave with a sense of pride, knowing they’re becoming not just better soccer players, but better people.
